GymRats UK is a trading name of GymRatZ Gym Equipment - Founded in 1999
When we started out in 1999 we rapidly became a dominant force in both the Bricks&Mortar and on-line Sports Supplements, Gym Equipment and GymWear industry as there was very little in the way of mail-order migration to e-commerce, and search engines were all about content and words so I (Pete) would test every supplement and give a thorough and personal review which made us very unique and even to this day all content is personally added and edited by myself or Deb which is deeply time consuming but at least you know it's genuine and written from many decades of experience in the industry.
We still run as the same family business (Pete and Deb) from our humble shop on the outskirts of Bristol (UK) just a few hundred yards from the M5 J18. The business was founded on our love of bodybuilding, fitness and martial arts. Back in those days manufacturers and suppliers would only open "trade accounts" to businesses operating from a retail store so the shop front was a necessity but as making a website got easier and cheaper suppliers (predominantly nutritional supplement manufacturers) started giving trade accounts and trade prices to any bedroom trader that could whip up a £100 order we eventually pulled the plug on sports nutrition as the industry had self-imploded, this gave us more time to focus on our very popular Home, Club and Full Commercial Gym and fitness Equipment ranges which is where we are today.
The founders (Pete & Deb) are running the business from the same shop that it all started off from although the on-going events since 2020 and global stock shortages means now our shop is more of an office and the majority of orders are shipped direct to customers from one of our many central warehouses so don't make a special trip to see us without calling first.
