WaterRower A1 Ash/Aluminium Review

The WaterRower A1 Studio as it used to be called is know more commonly known simply as the "WaterRower A1" (in the UK at least). Initially designed to provide an economical way for group indoor rowing sessions but also became popular in the domestic market finding favour with uses not woried by the reduced features of the workout monitor or the slightly noisier action of the seat riding along the aluminium mono-rail.
I shouid say that the "noise" of the WaterRower A1 is still significantly less than any air/fan rower thanks to it sharing the same drum components as the rest of the WaterRower range.

There was a time when the the WaterRower A1 was a great unit to up-sell to the WaterRower Natural by its absence of Heart Rate Monitor compatabillity and more basic "Quick start" monitor which still gives essential feedback but lacks the more in-depth features of the Series 4 Performance Workout Monitor or the rest of the range, but now with the arrival of the WaterRower SmartRow the A1 can leap ahead of the Series IV monitor with the option of adding the SmartRow device to turn the A1 into a highly accurate Ergometer offering very high performance, power and stroke feedback.

Other notable points are the WaterRower A1, being designed for group/class use caters for a greater range of athletic and non-athletic phisiques with the following key features:

• Larger Seat: Wider, Thicker, Softer all make the A1 WaterRower more comfortable for the less trained user.
• Mono-rail: This allows the foot retainers to be spaced wider giving a more generous space between the legs.
• 17" Handle: Another comfort feature for anyone with a bit more volume around the upper body.
